Savers Manager Sends Injured Cat to Dump

6-13-16 Update: Monday morning: Savers Arcadia manager Mark declines authorization by trash company this morning Monday to open trash compactor and release the cat because "he can't hear it crying anymore". Therefore the cat is on its way to the dump as we speak. It is being taken to a Sylmar landfill by Consolidated Waste Management driver Ignacio. Savers PR in Washington has been contacted and Mark has been contacted by multiple animal rescue organizations and declines to comment on this atrocity at this time.

If you have a kitty who is missing, this one might be yours Manager complaints about cats in the parking lot from residential areas directly behind and wants everyone's pet cats gone.

6-12-16 Sunday night update: Pasadena Humane Society refused help and sent us to LA County. LA County Animal Services hasn't returned our calls after messages were left . Arcadia Fire Department declined help stating "they could not damage private property". The LA S.M.A.R.T. team has not responded to messages that were left asking for help. Messages were left at the trash compactor manufacturer number provided on the side of the compactor, Con-Fab. Consolidated Waste Mgmt is the trash collector who services Savers Arcadia.

Kitty has possible broken hip & leg, therefore cannot defend itself against predators or coyotes who frequent this area nightly. Concerned citizens have been trying to catch kitty for vet care. Kitty is very hungry, but very scared and in great pain. Animal rescue has been working in this area to TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) stray kitties who have been abandoned by their owners who have moved on. This has assured cats have been fixed/vaccinated/eartipped and are not spreading disease and/or breeding.
