Suspect In Monrovia Murders Frequently Uses Alias: Police

MONROVIA, CA – A 33-year-old man being sought in connection with the killings of a woman and her teenage daughter who were found dead in a Monrovia apartment is known to use the alias David Gonzalez, Sheriff's investigators said Thursday.

Nimrod Perez Guerrero had an on-again, off-again relationship with the woman, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

While 41-year-old Cecilia Meza and 17-year-old Kelsey Meza were both strangled, the coroner's investigation found that the teen girl also suffered "blunt head trauma," according to the coroner's website.

The victims were found dead about 1:30 p.m. Dec. 5 in the 800 block of West Colorado Boulevard after someone asked police to conduct a welfare check, according to the sheriff's department.

The welfare check was sought after the girl failed to show up at Monrovia High School for several days. The school is across the street from the apartment where the bodies were found.

Guerrero should be considered armed and dangerous.

He is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, 200 pounds with brown hair and eyes. He was possibly driving a gray 2014 Toyota Rav4 with California license plate 7FPB132, according to the sheriff's department.
