Teen Receives Scrapes, Bruises in Collision With Car
Driver not to blame in minor accident on Myrtle Avenue.

A young teen is nursing some minor wounds tonight after colliding with a car Saturday afternoon.
The collision occurred before 4 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and Scenic Drive. According to officers at the scene, the driver was Northbound on Myrtle after having stopped at the intersection. The driver saw the bicyclist traveling down a steep driveway from the left at full speed. The driver stopped to avoid hitting the teen, but the teen hit the front of the car with his mountain bike, flew over the hood and landed on the ground.
"They were looked at and refused medical and because the parents live right there. He had minor scrapes and road rash on him," said Sergeant Don Newton of Monrovia Police.
Officers took a report of the incident, but no one was arrested.
