1. Monterey County cuts Flock cameras, DA warns of more victims (ksbw.com) — Monterey County supervisors have voted to remove Flock license plate reader cameras from unincorporated areas within 60 days, citing privacy and data concerns. Law enforcement leaders, including the district attorney's office and Carmel's police chief, warn the move could hinder solving crimes and leave more victims without justice while they urge state lawmakers to set clearer rules for this technology.
2. California airport is getting new Delta flights to two major hubs (wheninyourstate.com) — Monterey Regional Airport travelers will soon get new Delta flights to Los Angeles and Salt Lake City starting December 19, adding daily connections and more options beyond the Central Coast. 3. The Community Foundation for Monterey County announces its new president/CEO, Gina Dalma. The program already mails free, culturally appropriate English and bilingual books to thousands of county kids, and local partners hope more Monterey-area residents will sign up, spread the word, or contribute to keep it growing.
