Twelve accomplished boys from La Crescenta Cub Scout Pack 360 have earned Cub Scouting's highest award, the Arrow of Light, which was presented to them on Friday, March 30 in a ceremony held at Dunsmore Auditorium. Callilng themselves "The Phoenix Patrol", the boys, under the guidance of den leaders Nate Brown and Michael O'Bryan, completed up to 20 different activity badges, in skill areas such as Outdoors, Community, Technology, Mental and Physical Skills.
The Arrow of Light Award displays a universal symbol for the sun and, below it, an arrow. The seven rays of the sun stand for each day of the week and remind each boy to do their best each day as they follow the arrow that leads to Boy Scouting.
Upon receiving their Arrow of Light each boy walked across a wooden bridge, embossed with each word of the Scout Law, and they "bridged" across it to representatives from Boy Scout Troops 319, 303, and 317 who welcomed them into their new troop.
