Teen rock band Hit & Run will play this Sunday at the . It's free and open to all ages.
They’re five freshmen just getting used to the halls of , but the members of the rock band are already right at home on the stage. The ska-punk-reggae-influenced group of 14-year-olds will rock the house as they kick off a record release party for The Perverts this Sunday at 6 p.m. at the Eagle Rock All Star Lanes.
Hit & Run has been together since Rosemont Middle School. They fit band rehearsals in between cross country training, baseball, cheerleading, photography and other pursuits. But the kids agree that their commitment to the group is rock solid.

The band members are: Ciara Martin, vocals; Colin Martin, drums; Alex Gutierrez-Kovner, bass; Bryant Mohan, guitar; and Dashel Dupuy, guitar. The musicians write some of their own songs and also play music by groups as diverse as Sublime, Rage Against the Machine, Paramore, Foster the People, Black Sabbath, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters and the Black Keys.
The band has played at private parties, various GUSD school events and fundraisers, All Star Lanes in Eagle Rock, the Montrose and in La Crescenta. This summer they won the Glendale Battle of the Bands at the Verdugo Skate Park. They won tickets to the Vans Warped Tour, where Alex Gutierrez-Kovner, the tiny and energetic bass player, was pulled onstage by a band and given a mohawk. (At his mother’s urging, he’s ditched the mohawk.)

Hit & Run won’t be pulling any All Star Lane bowlers onstage for haircuts, but they’re planning on giving Eagle Rock a show it won’t forget.
