Two La Crescenta Schools Nominated for Statewide Award

and are both nominated for California Distinguished Schools awards, according to Glendale Unified School District.

"We are very proud of all of them, their staffs and students and supportive parents who make these distinctions possible," Steve Frasher of GUSD told Patch.

Balboa Elementary School in Glendale was also nominated for the California Department of Education award.

The agency will announce if the schools receive the award in April 2012.
