LA Poverty Department’s WALK THE TALK, scheduled
for May 26, 27 & 28 - each day from 1-5 p.m. is a peripatetic performance - with a brass band, Paradigm Brass, and a New Orleans style 2nd line- that travels through Skid Row with performances that celebrate the achievements of neighborhood visionaries. LAPD tells the stories of 36 people in the places where they live(d) and work(ed), to bring the history of the community to life.
We’ll be parading with 36 portraits of these same people designed by Mr. Brainwash.
We have parade permits from the city. We want to have 10 parade monitors each day ---think shepherds---- to keep the flock together and moving around the right corners of the route.
