Bear And Cub Wander Into La Crescenta Neighborhood
The pair of nosy neighbors eventually climbed a tree and dozed off to sleep.
LA CRESCENTA, CA – After wandering into a La Crescenta neighborhood, authorities tranquilized and relocated a mama bear and her cub Friday. Deputies from the sheriff's Crescenta Valley Station responded about 10 a.m. to a report of a bear in a backyard in the 2500 block of Cross Street.
They located the beasts and managed to contain them between some homes. After several hours the bears climbed a tree and nodded off.
California Department of Fish and Wildlife personnel used tranquilizer darts to subdue the animals, which were safely taken back into the wild, according to the sheriff's department.
