Bites Nearby: Zekes' Smokehouse BBQ

Yeeeeehaw! Stop by Zeke's Smokehouse for some amazing traditional Southern-style barbeque and legendary side dishes. Owner Joe Meinhart introduced the community to his celebrated smokehouse menu a little over nine years ago.

"My mission is to bring a time-honored tradition of family-style barbeque to Montrose," Meinhart proudly explains. All of their meats are smoked and grilled in an open kitchen, the aroma of which wafts out for the enjoyment of all Zeke's patrons. 

The pulled-beef brisket is the most popular meal served up at Zeke's, and they are also well known for their Southern fried catfish, Southern fried chicken, Memphis-style baby back ribs, and, of course, meatloaf. 

Three spectacularly blended, homemade barbeque sauces wait on the tables for your sampling and dipping pleasure. Choose from a wide variety customary southern side dishes such as collard greens, made-from-scratch baked beans, sweet n' sour slaw and Southern green beans, to name a few.

Zeke's "kick @#! chili" comes with onion, sour cream and cheese and is a meal in and of itself. Barbeque inspired salads such as the smoked tomato, roast pepper and goat cheese or Asian BBQ pork bring a unique twist on combining barbeque meats with salad.

For dessert, try out some warm bread pudding drenched in bourbon sauce or fruit cobbler with ice cream if there is any room left in your stomach.

"C'mon down" on Saturday and Sunday morning from 8-11:30 a.m. for a home-style country breakfast. Enjoy a platter of ham, bacon, and hash browns or a plate of fresh buttermilk biscuits and gravy. Zeke's famous "Jeremy the waffle man" waffles are popular, smothered as they are in bananas, chocolate chips, and pecans. Compliment your breakfast with grits, country potatoes, fruit, or sausage.

Zeke's family-friendly environment caters to "young'ns" with menu options like burgers, chicken strips, and Mac n' cheese. Carry-out, free delivery and catering are all available.
