Patch Blog: Accidents, Accidents, Everywhere

Montrose resident discusses recent string of accidents involving a pedestrian, a motorcycle and a bicycle.

Wow! What is going on in our community? Is it the heat? Is it carelessness? Are we in that adjustment period of getting the kids back to school?

I thought the East coast was having it rough but I bet if you talk to those involved, if they are capable of speech at present, they would say they would take a hurricane or a trivial earthquake over what is happening in Glendale.

On Wednesday, three separate and seemingly unrelated incidents occurred in Glendale. One story give the account of a 70-year-old woman being hit by a truck. Another story tells of a motorcycle police officer being hit by a car on the way to a accident where a bicyclist was hit by a car.

I have words, certainly not kind ones, for my community.

Folks please, take your time and make good decisions when moving through your community. This includes pedestrians. Everyone has at least a little responsibility to assure their own safety and a lions share of the responsibility to assure the safety of others. Especially from behind the wheel of a vehicle weighing 10 to 30 times more than an average person.

For the sake of your own personal well-being, please make wise decisions and encourage those you love to do the same.
