Fire Dept. Be Ready

A DIRE WARNING RE SETTING FOREST FIRES

The Station fire is a good example of much too little, much too late. What is left of the forests, must be guarded at all costs.  With the increased danger of destruction from all angles, one must consider a likely attack from light aircraft dropping many fire starting devices like flares.  Many fires could be started all over from one airplane stocked with flares.  It would overwhelm any fire fighting ability available.  The only answer I know is to have a good supply of water dropping craft loaded and ready to go. Much like the fire stations who get a call and they are on their way.  There should also be a restraining law that forbids light craft from flying over mountainous regions..and enforced.  It would be very possible for one aircraft to drop flares during windy conditions that would lay bare all forests from Cajon Pass to Mt. Baldy.  A word to the wise should be sufficient, but it won't be.
