One more month! CV High Student Reflects On The School Year
There is only one more month left of school, which is hard to believe! Most seniors are ready to leave, excited to enter the college life. Others are not so happy, but it must be done.
Just seven months ago, I was waiting in agony for the last day of school to come. It's unbelievable how fast time flew by seeing that there is only more month left of school! My junior year, to which I can confirm about the rumors stating that junior year is rigorous and difficult, was unforgettable. It is true that I have yet to finish this year, but with AP and CST testing all done, the time I spend in school watching movies overrides the time I spend learning. In fact, I think I only lift up a pencil during English and Math.
Not only has the schoolwork been extremely tough this year, but the goodbyes are also becoming a homework like task - something that is despicable but necessary. Seniors have and will be facing so many of their lasts, including prom that is coming up next week. It's common to overhear girls talking about their dresses while guys talk about the ridiculous cost prom entails. In addition, the graduation booth that holds the seniors' caps and gowns highlights the leaving of another class. It is finally time to mentally prepare for the walk across Stengel Field, with a diploma in one hand and a teary smile across the face. The time that all these students have waited for since the beginning of ninth grade (or even earlier) is right before their eyes, and this whole high school experiene will all be over before they say, "Goodbye forever."
It's hard to witness all the seniors moaning or joyously declaring that this year is the last, for my classmates and I will repeat this cycle all over again. Right now this quote stands so clear to me as I see all this commotion : "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." - Dr. Seuss. Though not all seniors are sad that this month is their last, it would be a lie to say that everyone is jumping and down with joy.

The 2010-2011 year is almost to a close, and everything's finally closing its doors. As a new door is ready in place for the 2011-2012 year, students will have to wait until the old one completely closes. These final months have been glorious, and I can not wait to enter my "last year" of this rollercoast I have been on for the past three years.
