Patch Blog: Help Us Build Robots to Dominate
Just a bunch of self-described high school geeks trying to raise money in order to build a robot. No big deal.

I haven't blogged in awhile, but I think this particular subject holds a large amount of importance. I'm a member of Clark Magnet High School's Robotics Team 696, also known as the Circuit Breakers. We're gearing up to build our 2011-2012 robot for the . Now, I know what you're thinking. Robots might mean geek, right? Well, that's true (according to us) and we've learned to embrace our social status in the high school hierarchy. As a means to raise funds, we've launched a project on the Kickstarter website.
Kickstarter helps people turn their project ideas into reality. As cheesy as that sounds, it's true. Hence the website's name. You can pledge any amount (min. of $1) towards our robot for the upcoming year. We also have set amounts you can choose from that in exchange for your donation to our robot, you get a gift (t-shirt, poster, a minibot, etc.). Yeah, you're just dying to donate now, aren't you? As much as I joke around, your contribution will be valuable to us no matter what.
We dedicate a lot of our time towards meeting. We even meet on Saturdays early in the morning to late afternoon. What kid willingly uses their Saturday to go to school? We do!
