Patch Blog: Paranormal Activity 3

Just a short, quick review of how this movie experience was for me. Scary enough to leave my light on when I slept that night. Enjoy!

Since , people are decking out their houses, preparing to throw big Halloween parties and stocking up on candy to hand out to those kids trick-or-treating this year.

The teenagers have a totally different idea.

Most are setting out to the theme parks in Los Angeles County that are designed to scare you 'till you cry. I'm actually going to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios this Friday (I'll blog about it and post pictures!). Others are planning to stay in and watch scary movies. This past Saturday, I watched Paranormal Activity 3 which has been advertised to be horrifying and guaranteed to "mess you up."

Popcorn, hot chocolate and candy in hand, my friends and I headed to the movie theater. The boys in our group decided that the girls couldn't sit together and sat between us. According to them, we wouldn't watch the movie at all if we sat next to each other. The chilly air in the theater added to my fear and the previews weren't much help either. I was planning on using my jacket to cover my face, but my friend had plans of his own and stole it from me and practically forced me to watch the movie.

Paranormal Activity 3 provided genuine scares that made people jump and scream like little girls. Which is amusing considering the majority of the audience was male.

I was so far down in my seat, I could barely see over my legs which were propped up on the seat in front of me. You don't necessarily have to watch the first two movies to understand this one, it has a story all of its own. The plot of the film is predictable and somewhat unclear, especially the ending. My friends and I were a tad disappointed that it was so rushed. However, the camera angles and the way this film was shot allowed for such a realistic, hair-raising experience. I'm not going to spoil the movie for you, but it's a must-see if you're searching for a movie to send you into paranoia. When I got home, I literally built a fort around my bed and wrapped my body in blankets... twice.

You get the picture. So, if you decide to watch it, bring a friend (or three) and enjoy the movie.
