Wednesday Night PEAK Program
will be launching the fall session of its Wednesday night PEAK (Praise and Education for Adults and Kids) program on Wednesday, Sept. 7. There is a dinner that precludes the classes each week from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and classes from 6:30 to 8 p.m. There are classes for adults and children (ages 2 through 8th grade with nursery care for infants). This year the church will be offering three classes for adults: Alpha, Foundations for Families and Back to the Future Church: Ancient Faith, Future Mission.

“We have a vibrant children’s program here on Wednesday nights” said Mary Wilson, who leads the SPARKS (4th-6th grade) group. “Our SPARKS group is one of the most involved groups at our church. They participate in service projects such as monthly trips to the Children’s Hunger Fund in Los Angeles.”
The cost of dinner is $3 for adults and $2 for children and the classes are all free. Here is a list of the roster of classes offered:

Adult Classes
Alpha. Alpha is geared to people who want a practical, straightforward introduction to Christianity. Each session includes a videotaped talk, and small-group discussion. Session topics include: "Who is Jesus?," "Why did Jesus die?," "How can I be sure of my faith?" and more. The small group discussions are informal, friendly and non-pressured. Foundations for Families This fall the Foundations class will focus on forgiveness. Dr. Rick Lyon, a marriage and family therapist will lead the class for the first six weeks. The class will explore the teachings of scripture, also drawing on the findings of psychology to help us understand what forgiveness is and what it is not. Back to the Future Church: Ancient Faith, Future Mission Lee Cook will lead this new study of the Acts of the Apostles. Join us as we examine the examples of our ancient brothers and sisters and re-discover the joy and purpose of our mission.
