Coffee Runner Seeks Adventurous Optimist
During the week, Montrose office assistant, Samantha Cio, tones down the glitz, but on the weekends, she's gazing at the stars ...waiting for her Michael Fassbender.
I met Samantha Cio on the prowl in her residential neighborhood just blocks from the town center and right as the sun began to set in Montrose. After I initially startled her and narrowly scared her away, she was willing to open up about her dream guy, worst date and —and I use the word “celebrity” lightly. Her happy-go-lucky attitude and bright persona helped shed some light on why some men need to get it together and understand what women really want! Other than that, it was just an ordinary in Montrose.

Interested In: A self-deprecating semi-thrill seeker
What do you do around here?
I basically run coffee in an office and make copies of unimportant documents. It’s a real pleasure.
Sounds like it. I do that at home. Since you’re single, can you tell me the top three qualities you look for in your dream guy?
Umm … do they have to be in order?
I suppose not. There are no rules to my silly game.
Good. So, humor, but not like obnoxious humor. The ability to be self-deprecating is key, but not like a downer about it like, “Oh, I was a loser in high school.” Like that kind of thing. And liking to try new things would be another.
Like adventurous?
, but not necessarily a major thrill seeker.
So, he shouldn’t be jumping out of planes and stuff.
Right. Exciting is cool, but needing it to survive is not as cool.
This is very detailed.
Sorry.
No, I am just saying that you are very detailed.
Oh! Well, this is what is coming to me now. If you asked me the same question tomorrow, you may get a different answer.
What’s the third...as of now?
He would need to have a positive disposition. And I mean I would have to be attracted to him .
Ok. That’s fair.
But I don’t have a magic view on what he would look like.
Well, who is your celebrity crush?
Oh…well, my crushes don’t last long. But my crush at the moment is Michael Fassbender just because I saw Jane Eyre recently.
Who?
Exactly. The guy who plays Edward Rochester in the new version of Jane Eyre. He was also in Inglourious Basterds. I mean, does he count as a celebrity? I don’t know.
In his own home maybe.
I think he is excellence.
You might want to send him a letter so he knows he has a fan. Do you have a nightmare-dating story?
Yeah. It wasn’t traumatic or anything, but I went on a date with someone that looked great on paper. So you go try, right? I met him at an event cause he really did look .
He was adventurous, but not a thrill seeker and funny, but not obnoxious-funny?
Yeah. Talented, could hold a conversation, had interesting things to say, good looking … all that stuff.
Uh huh. Where did you guys go?
We went on a to the top of Mount Wilson because there was supposed to be this meteor shower that particular night. So, a bunch of us went there and laid out some blankets and watched the meteors. It was cold and I wanted someone to warm up to. I have to say, it was the most romantic setting you could imagine. All the ingredients were there and the chemistry was non-existent. I even tried to kiss him, but it felt like kissing my brother.
That can’t be promising.
And on the way down the mountain, he stepped on a huge thorn that went through his shoe. It was not going well for him. It was very uncool.
The poor guy!
Right. And on the way home, I had this major need to over explain that I didn’t think anything was going to become of us. I felt I needed to be overly clear that it was done.
Unnecessarily so?
Right.
Where do you frequent around here?
I like to feel good. But when I eat out, I usually go to with friends.
Do you ever want to get ?
Maybe. I don’t know.
?
Maybe. I don’t know.
It’s a tad important to know what you want.
I know it is! Cause then you can go and get it. But I have never been a go-getter!
Well, you don’t have to go and “get” love. It’s love. It comes to you.
What about the people that are totally obsessed with it and it totally doesn’t happen for them?
Because they are too obsessed. We should know what we want and then relax about it. Throw it out of our minds after we find that clarity.
I don’t want to get married and I don’t want kids as of right now.
As of this interview?
Yeah.
Copy that. I like your name. It’s very 80’s.
It’s cause I used to be obsessed with Who’s the Boss and I loved that Samantha and I had the same name.
She’s pregnant, you know.
Who?
Alyssa Milano.
Oh.
