Crime Blotter: Smashed Windows on Foothill, Watch Stolen From Doorstep Delivery
Smashed windows, missing GPS and a snatched delivery highlight this week's crimes.

Window Smashing, Round Two
In a report dated Jan. 25, a victim reports to have discovered property vandalism but could not be sure of the exact date the incident occured. The 29-year old male stated that the windows of a Newstar realty property, located on the 2600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, had been smashed with an unkown object. He noted that the building had been empty for six months and that this was the second time he had checked on the property and found broken windows. He did not report the first incident and could not be sure when the second incident occured. He noted that a protest regarding the city's trimming of historic trees in the area had taken place close to the building during the timeframe of the vandalism.

Package Tampering Reveals Petty Theft
A 36-year old female resident of the 5500 block of Terrace Drive in La Crescenta reported that her mail had been pilfered and a delivery stolen between the hours of noon and 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29. The victim stated that upon retreiving a package delivered by the USPS, she saw that the box had been opened. The expected contents of a men's Timex watch valued at $65 was not inside, only packaging materials and instructions for the timepiece. According to the incidient report, Amazon.com and the USPS confirmed delivery of a sealed package that day.

Bike Stolen from Library Rack
On Tuesday, Feb. 1, a student reported to deputies that his Mongoose bike, valued at $137, had been stolen while he was visiting the beween 3 and 3:30 p.m. The bike had been secured with a padlock and chain to the bike rack in front of the library.
Lost GPS
A female resident of the 2700 block of Timberlake Drive in La Crescenta reported to deputies that her car had been burglarized on the morning of Feb. 3. Victim stated that an Alipne GPS monitor had been stolen from the dashboard of her Chevy Silverado. Deputies noted that no signs of forced entry were visibly, but victim insisted that the car had been locked.
