“Once they get started, it could take less time that,” Davis said. “We’re still hoping it opens in spring of next year.”
The dog park, which will be located in the northwest section of Crescenta Valley Park, will feature decomposed granite and wood chip surfacing.
The park will feature two entryways leading to separate areas for small and large dogs, according to a news release from Supervisor Michael Antonovich. There will also be drinking fountains and water faucets for thirsty pooches.
All features will be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Other reported features include a 6-foot-high chain link fence, benches and shade coverings.
“I know there’s going to be a hose-off area; in case your dog is going to get dirty, you can hose them off before you get in the car,” Davis said.
A conceptual rendering of the dog park will be released when the plan check phase is completed.
“If they have to move any of the fencing then they will also have to move any of the features,” Davis said. “They want to wait for the plan check phase to be completed.”
