UPDATE: Earthquake Rattles Foothills

UPDATE: The U.S. Geological Survey said that the initially reported magnitude 4.2 earthquake rocked the foothills was updated to a magnitude 4.3 earthquake.

Two tremors followed shortly after the shaking began four miles from Newhall at 1:47 p.m., with a 2.0 magnitude quake north of San Fernando at 1:50 p.m. and 2.3 magnitude quake in the same area at 1:53 p.m., according to the USGS.

At least 19 people in the Santa Clarita area said they felt the earthquake, according to the agency.

A sheriff's deputy at the said no residents had reported any damage or injury from the earthquake.
