Officials for the City of Glendale have announced that Southern California’s most popular car show is returning for its 19th year on Saturday, July 21.
Headlining the 2012 Cruise Night is “Surfin’ Safari” as part of the band’s “Endless Summer” Tour marking the 50th Anniversary of the Beach Boys. Surfin’ Safari is unrivaled in its sound, presentation and professionalism—an ultimate tribute to the Beach Boy era with such hits as “Surfing USA,” “Good Vibrations,” “Little Deuce Coupe,” and “California Girls.” Opening for Surfin’ Safari will be “Creedence Relived,” the premier CCR Tribute. From “Proud Mary” to “Bad Moon Rising”—this group will recreate the sounds of one ofAmerica’s greatest rock bands, Creedence Clearwater Revival.
And that’s just part of the evening’s entertainment. A DJ will warm up the crowd at the main grandstand’s new location at Wilson and Brand Boulevard, while visitors stroll among 400 classic cars from 1979 and earlier. Display booths and activities for the kids will make this evening one of the best entertainment options of the summer. And the best part? It’s free.
