Glendale City Council 2011 Results: Out with the Old, In with the New!
On the evening of April 18, the Glendale City Council introduced its line-up.
Rafi Manoukian and Dave Weaver were sworn into office at the Glendale City Council Organization meeting April 18 as more than 200 Glendale residents crowded City Hall Chambers to watch.
Incumbent Weaver held an impressive lead with 10,197 votes. But fellow incumbent John Drayman fell just short of enough votes to win the second seat against Manoukian, who beat him by 61 votes.
Officially, 24.4 percent of Glendale citizens voted, and the elections results represented about 24,000 ballots cast.

Ara Najarian's term as mayor came to an end during the organization meeting. Frank Quintero nominated Laura Friedman, and all members of the Council voted affirmatively. Though Friedman was nominated twice previously, this was the first year she accepted the nomination.
Congratulations to the new members of City Council and to the new mayor!
