Glendale Raffles Off Chance To Ride Glendale's Rose Float

Residents have a chance to ride on one of the longest running entries in the parade.

For $25, residents of Glendale can enter a raffle for the chance to have their "Dreams Come True" and ride on the city's Rose Parade float.

The city has established the fund encouraging private citizens to contribute money and help offset a portion of the $150,000 price tag for the float's design and construction. The winner of the raffle will receive two tickets to ride on Glendale's 2014 float, officials said.

In early March 2013, city officials approved $150,000 for the float. Along with the private donations, the city seeks corporate sponsors as well. The corporate sponsors will have a seat on the Design Selection Committee to help decide the float's look, officials said.

The theme for the 125th Rose Parade is "Dreams Come True. Glendale will have the second-longest running entry in the parade, having been a participant for 100 years, officials said.
