About the artist:
Sherry Tang, age 16, has studied piano since the age of four with Michelle Jo Santoso. She is a junior at Mark Keppel High School and plays both the piano and violin. She was selected as the 2010 From The Top’s Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award and was awarded a scholarship. In addition, she was featured on national radio “From the Top” (91.5). She was also a recipient of the Young Talented Artist & Outstanding Music Performer in Southern California. Sherry has won many awards in piano competitions including the International Young Artist Piano Competition in Washington D.C., the Los Angeles International Liszt Competition, Glendale Piano Competition, MTAC Pasadena Branch Competition, SYMF Open Solo, Southern California Junior Bach Festival, Cypress College Piano Competition, and the Long Beach Mozart Festival. She was invited to perform with the Pasadena Youth Symphony Orchestra and performed at the prestigious Carnegie Hall twice as a winner of the American Fine Arts Festival and the American Protege. She has played the violin for six years and joined the Glendale Youth Orchestra two years ago.
