Glendale Youth Orchestra Season Finale Concert

The Glendale Youth Orchestra, conducted by Brad Keimach, celebrates the final concert of their 26th season on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 7:00

The Glendale Youth Orchestra, conducted by Brad Keimach, celebrates the final concert of their 26th season on Sunday, May 17, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. at the historic Alex Theatre in Glendale, CA. Five high school age concerto competition winners from Burbank, Pasadena, Arcadia and La Crescenta perform.

The program includes:

J.C. Bach Cello Concerto in c minor, first movement (Maya Paredes, Burbank, Cello),

J.S. Bach Violin Concerto in E major, first movement (Rachel Mugemancuro, Pasadena, Violin),

Mozart Violin Concerto in A Major, first movement (Jacqueline Ching, Arcadia, Violin),

Kabalevsky Cello Concerto #1, first movement (Ryan Choi, La Crescenta, Cello),

Reinecke Flute Concerto in D, first movement (Josephine Lee, La Crescenta, Flute)

and Beethoven Fifth Symphony.

The GYO is a Premier LA Phil Youth Orchestra Mentorship Program, and is funded in part by a grant from LA County Arts Commission.

Tickets are $12.50 and may be purchased from the Alex Theatre Box Office. Groups of 15 or more get 15% off. Students, children and seniors may purchase tickets for $10 each. Formed in 1989 by a group of Glendale music lovers and school teachers, the Glendale Youth Orchestra now attracts talented young musicians in the 6th through 12th grades and college music programs from all over Los Angeles and the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys.
