Great Escape: Spinning Out of Control!
Try out Pedal Spin Studio for an "escape" from the nomal workout.
One of my favorite ways to "escape" is to take some time for myself and work out. Whether it be a jog through the park or a yoga class, I love the time I have to just think as I am exercising. While I enjoy taking off to the gym, sometimes a girl has to shake things up! Recently, I stumbled upon the Pedal Spin Studio on Honolulu Ave. and decided to check it out. With a party feel, the Pedal Spin Studio features black lights, a spinning, mirrored disco ball, and moving red, green, and blue lights dancing on the floors. Energetic music is pumping through the studio and there is a feeling here at this spinning class that I have never experienced. The receptionist invited me to attend a class and let me know that the first class is always free. I changed into my workout clothes in the studio's dressing room and then bought a bottle of chilled water from the front of the studio. The instructor, Lacey, introduced herself to me and welcomed me to the class. Fast-paced music started up and the regular lights turn off to make way for the black light turn. This is a whole new level of a "spinning," and the music seems to push my legs faster than they have ever gone before. The hour long class flew by as we pedaled and pushed ourselves physically, enjoying every minute of it. The best part of this great workout is feeling like you had fun and not that you want to die.Pedal Spin Studio opened its doors in Montrose almost three years ago under the ownership of sisters-in-law, Cindy and Michelle Bell. Located at 2236 Honolulu Ave., this unique spin studio provides the best spinning classes available while offering a personal approach to spinning. The "Bell Sisters" strive to custom-tailor workouts for each individual. They simply love spinning classes and were often times met with frustrations as they attend crowded and impersonal spin classes at their own gyms. With the idea of making spinning fun and exciting and bringing a personal approach to their classes, they work hard to learn everyone's names and understand what their focus and goals are for their future. Pedal Spin Studio is very hands on in their approach to teaching their classes and desire to create a sense of community for those who attend. They have a staff of fifteen instructors, each of whom their own unique style and energy to the classes they teach. You can also take yoga classes at the Pedal Spin Studio on Tuesday evenings from 6-7 p.m. Plenty of close, free parking islocated in the lot behind the studio. With classes being held seven days a week from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., it is easy to find a class that works around busy schedules! Call the studio at 818-957-9100!
