Great Escape: Taking it Poolside

In search of a pool? Patch can direct you to several.

Few things sound better than the crystal-cool water of a pool at this time of year. Luckily, Crescenta Valley locals have several options.

First, there's the , which is fun for the whole family. With a kid-friendly small pool and an regular pool, the YMCA is perfect location to work on your breaststroke, or just splash around. Since it's indoor, you don't even need to worry about sunscreen! Adult day passes cost $15 and children's day passes cost $5. Call them at 818-790-0123.

Adults have another option in the form of the Foothill Athletic Club in La Crescenta. One of their amenities is a pool! Right now, you can get a free 7-day pass here. Call them at 818-957-0204 or visit their website.

Another option is the nearby , where you'll find an Olympic-sized pool. All through the summer, they have awesome poolside events, including movies by the pool, cannonball contests, basketball competitions and much more! In nearby Altadena, the  boasts a recently-renovated community pool that is open to the public seven days a week! From 12:30-5 p.m., the pool is open for swimming, free of charge. Call them at 626-398-5452.
