Katharine Crowder: Local Whiz Kid

•Name: Katharine Crowder

 •Age: 16

 •School: Crescenta Valley High School, Junior

 •Accomplishments: Katharine was recently hired by renowned artist, graphic designer and photographer Derek Boshier as an "artist research assistant." This is an honor to given to most college and post-graduate students in the art field. Katharine was chosen because of her interest in the arts, as well as her academic excellence and remarkable research skills.

•About Katharine: A home-grown Crescenta Valley native, Katharine enjoys her third year of studying French, and her favorite subject is math. She volunteers in the community at local elementary schools with their fundraising events. Katharine is a tremendous help at her home as she helps take care of her two disabled siblings and is a member of "Autism Speaks," which helps to bring awareness to autism through community events and forums. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the guitar and looks forward to studying medicine in college.
