National Park Service Studies La Crescenta
Study officials hope to protect wildlife, complete the Rim of the Valley Trail System and find new ways to provide open space.

The U.S. National Park Service is conducting a resource study on the Rim of the Valley Corridor in La Crescenta and wants locals’ feedback.
The goals of the study are:
- Protect wildlife habitat and linkages between
- Complete the Rim of the Valley Trail System, which includes major feeder trails to connect adjoining communities and regional transit to the trail system
- Preserve recreational opportunities and access to open space for variety of recreational users
- Protect rare, threatened or endangered species and rare or unusual plan communities
- Find, respect needs of communities within or near the Rim of the Valley Corridor
Study officials request that foothill residents say what resources, recreational opportunities matter in the area, what issues or concerns should be addressed in the study process or any individuals or organizations who should be contacted.

A final report of the findings will be released in 2014, according to the National Park Service Department of the Interior.
