Jay Choi opened the doors to almost seven years ago. His vision was to bring the freshest quality sushi and sashimi to Montrose.
Choi's amazing eye for detail and distinguishing palate has been pleasing sushi lovers ever since.Upon entering the restaurant, everyone greets you, even the sushi chefs working busily behind the bar.
With such a welcoming environment, it is easy to feel comfortable here. You almost feel like a member of Choi's family. The restaurant accommodates quick "lunches for one" at the bar, but they also have room for larger parties.

A framed newspaper article at the sushi bar features one of their five sushi chefs, Danny (Seung Hoon) Lee, naming him "Best Sushi Chef." All of the sushi chefs are entertaining, informative, and fun to watch as they create edible works of art.
Two of the most popular sushi rolls are the "Johnny Roll" and the "Special Library." The "Special Library" combines seven different types of fish, black caviar and sliced avocado.

The "Johnny Roll" combines shrimp tempura, crisp asparagus, avocado and spicy tuna, and is drizzled with the restaurant's signature secret sauce. It looks tantalizing, and the combination of taste and presentation makes the "Johnny Roll" nothing short of a masterpiece. Your taste buds will marvel at the contrast of warm sticky rice, chilled veggies and spicy tuna.
There are more than 60 sushi rolls to choose from, including unique creations such as the "Montrose Roll," the "Super Man Burrito" and the "Marilyn Mon- Roll."
And if sushi is not your thing, Blue Fish also specializes in assorted tempuras and teriyaki dinners. Lighter fare includes Udon noodle soups and an assortment of Japanese-inspired salads, and no meal is complete without their miso soup.
Blue Fish features eight specialty-imported Japanese beers, Fusion sakes, and local California wine to complement your dining experience. Their mochi dessert selection is wonderful, and you will quickly find your new addiction once you try the deep fried tempura with ice cream.
Sunday through Thursday, Blue Fish is open from 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m., and Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Blue Fish offers a children's menu. Like most Montrose restaurants, patio seating is available. Meals range from $4-$25. Blue Fish is located at 2261 Honolulu Ave.
