Glendale Police officers were conducting a probation check at a La Crescenta apartment Wednesday when they allegedly found two balloons of heroin, tin foil under a mattress and several small containers of marijuana.

A 23-year-old La Crescenta probationer allegedly ran from Glendale police officers when they discovered two balloons of heroin, tin foil under a mattress and several small containers of marijuana during a probation compliance check, according to Glendale Police Department.
Several officers and narcotics agents arrived at the home listed for Bradley Shaw at a La Crescenta apartment Wednesday about 8 a.m. in the 3200 block of Altura Avenue, near Pennsylvania Avenue, according to Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz.
Shaw is on active felony probation for drug possession, Lorenz said.

Officers asked Shaw if they could search his room, and he allowed them to search, Lorenz said.
Two balloons of heroin and several pieces of tin foil were allegedly under the mattress, along with several plastic containers of marijuana, Lorenz said. Shaw allegedly confirmed that the balloons contained heroin and suddenly ran out of the apartment in an attempt to flee the neighborhood.

The area was placed on a brief lockdown and Shaw was taken into custody a short distance from the apartment, police said.
Shaw was arrested and booked on suspicion of probation violations and possession of controlled substances. His booking photo and bail information was not immediately available.
