Every Tuesday, they offer food for the homeless from 2-8:30 p.m. as part of their "Brother's Helpers" ministry. In nearby Glendale, you will find the head office of Glendale Healthy Kids, a nonprofit, non-government organization working to provide health care (including medical, mental, dental and vision) to uninsured and underinsured youth throughout Los Angeles. Established in 1993, Glendale Healthy Kids is the result of a combined effort by Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center, Verdugo Hills Hospital, Glendale Adventist Medical Center, Glendale Unified School District and the City of Glendale, as well as countless physicians and care-providers who work with the organization. 223 N. 4. The Glendale Humane Society is the only "no-kill" public shelter in Los Angeles County. Their mission is to "ensure as many dogs and cats as possible receive the second chance for life they deserve."
