Patch Picks: Cinco de Mayo Celebrations
Though Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of Mexican culture, it's actually celebrated much more in the United States than in Mexico.

2. Participate in the Fiesta Broadway celebration in downtown Los Angeles. This annual event takes place on the weekend after Cinco de Mayo on Sunday May 8 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. This is a free, mile-long street fair on Broadway Street, between Olympic and 1st streets. Vendor craft and food booths as well as game booths will line the streets.
3. Old Town Monrovia will be hosting its first annual Cinco de Mayo Cultural Art and Music Festival. The event will take place on May 5 at 2 p.m. and will feature exhibits, folklorico dancing and music for the whole family. Myrtle and Colorado Streets, Monrovia. 1201 North Canyon Blvd., Monrovia.

4. Olvera Street will be hosting their annual celebration of this holiday with folklorico dancers, piñatas, music, and activities for the children. 5. Host your own Cinco de Mayo celebration. Los Gringos Locos in nearby La Canada offers catering which features taco trucks complete with fresh guacamole, salsa, and all of the fixings that will ensure a successful event!
