Community Corner

PHOTO GALLERY: Taste Of Montrose Proves Delicious

Crescenta Valley High School's "Prom Plus" hosted the annual Taste of Montrose over the weekend, in conjunction with the Sunday Harvest Festival, Wags and Whiskers, and Kids and Critters.

"Taste of Montrose" showcases the food from over 28 restaurants in Montrose, mainly those along Honolulu Avenue. Delicious restaurants included , Bashan and Giuseppe's, just to name a few. The community enjoyed everyone's favorite local, homemade ice cream from Paradis and authentic pizza from La Cañada Imports, and much more.

Tickets were made available through the Crescenta Valley and Montrose-Verdugo City Chambers of Commerce and sales benefit Crescenta Valley High School Prom Plus, an organization that gives students a safe and fun alternative to an unchaperoned party. Prom Plus was formed when a CV senior was murdered in 1991 at an unsupervised, post-prom hotel party. Prom Plus offers a supervised post prom event held at the Crescenta-Cañada YMCA.

This year, Prom Plus organizers are raising $20,000 for the annual party, and are in the process of getting celebrity guests and athletes to come to the event.
