See-Saw Game Ends in Loss for CVHS Basketball
Crescenta Valley High School boys varsity basketball team fell five points short to Mission Viejo in the semifinals of the CIF Southern Section Division 1A playoffs.
Mission Viejo 65, Crescenta Valley 60: Davis Dragovich scored nine of his team-high 13 points in the second half, but the Falcons lost in the semifinals of the CIF Southern Section Division 1A playoffs.
Crescenta Valley jumped out to a seven-point lead in the first quarter, 22-15, but couldn’t hold it in a see-saw game.
Mission Viejo didn’t take the lead for good until early in the third quarter. Crescenta Valley was down, 33-32, at halftime, but led by three points early in the opening minutes of the third quarter.

Mission Viejo’s Michael Cramer scored 17 of his game-high 20 points in the second half and was 9-for-10 from the free-throw line.
Dylan Kilgour made three 3-pointers and scored 11 points for Crescenta Valley. Cole Currie scored 10 points for the Falcons (26-5).

“It’s a great, great season,” Crescenta Valley coach Shawn Zarganian said. “Our guys left their mark in our program’s history. To get 26 wins and advance to the semifinals, for a lot of these guys, it’s their third 20-win season in a row, they’ve made a difference. They’ve left their mark on this program.”
