Teenager Attacks La Crescenta Man With Pipe Wrench
A teenage boy attacked a La Crescenta resident Thursday when he walked out of his home in the 5100 Block of Cloud Avenue.

An unknown teenage boy attacked a La Crescenta man with a pipe wrench Thursday, hitting him several times while he lay on the ground outside his home, sheriff's officials said.
The assault with a deadly weapon happened in the 5100 Block of Cloud Avenue, near Henrietta Avenue, about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24, according to a report.
The victim said he walked out of his home along the stairs toward the driveway when he heard the sound of someone walking on leaves, according to the report.

He turned toward the sound when he saw two males standing in the driveway. One suspect suddenly lunged toward him while holding a large pipe wrench raised above his head with both hands.
The suspect struck his right leg with the wrench, which caused him to fall down on his left side. The suspect continued hitting him with the wrench while holding it in his right hand.

He struck the victim several times on the right side of his body during an attack which lasted about one to two minutes until both suspects ran away. They fled southbound on Cloud Avenue and out of the victim's view.
Only one suspect attacked the victim. Nothing was said by either suspect during, before or after the attack and the victim did not know why he was attacked, officials said.
The victim went to Verdugo Hills Hospital emergency room, where he reported the incident to hospital personnel and sheriff's deputies. Apparently, he did not immediately call 911, the report states.
He was treated at the hospital for multiple abrasions and a broken right thumb.
The main suspect is described as male, 16 to 17 years old, about 140 pounds, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, with buzz cut hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt, black or gray basketball shorts and white tube socks.
The second suspect is described as male, 16 to 17 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches, about 130 pounds with short, dark hair. He was wearing Ray-Ban Wayfarer style “Tiger color” sunglasses, a black graphic T-shirt, black cotton hoodie sweatshirt, black Dickie shorts and white tube socks.
Officials urge anyone with information about the incident to call the Crescenta Valley Station's Detective Bureau or Detective Burt at 818-248-3464.
