The Ukulele: Hawaii and Beyond

Saturday, October 3 - Come enjoy a magical evening as The Honolulu Avenue Strummers present The Ukulele: Hawaii and Beyond at McGroarty Arts Center.

Join us for your favorite Hawaiian tunes, featuring hula accompaniment from special guest artists Nani Edgar, and the beautiful musical stylings of Danny Carvalho. Then see this instrument in a whole new light as we push musical genres and tackle some tunes not normally played on ukulele. Whether you are a fan of the 80s, country music or today’s hits, we have some surprises up our sleeves!

The Honolulu Avenue Strummers are a Montrose based ukulele ensemble, and have appeared in the Montrose Christmas Parade, The Montrose Farmers Market, and various community events.

McGroarty Arts Center is located at 7570 McGroarty Terrance in Tujunga. $10 cover charge and bar proceeds benefit the Center. Complimentary snacks and a cash beer and wine bar. Doors open at 6:30pm, show begins at 7:00pm.
