It's like being in a Christmas movie. Except it's real. The merchants of the Montrose Shopping Park have an exciting Thanksgiving weekend planned. Festivities begin November 26 with WHITE FRIDAY, the small town answer to Black Friday. Many merchants white out sales tax that day. Look for the white snowflake sign in their window.

The Annual MONTROSE TREE LIGHTING EVENT takes place Friday evening, at the corner of Honolulu & Ocean View, from 5:30 - 7:30 as follows:

* 5:30 - 6:00 Hummingbird Conservatory Carolers

During the tree lighting event the GLENDALE FIREFIGHTERS will be on hand with their vintage fire engine. Bring a new, unwrapped toy and help them fill up the truck for CRAM-A-CLASSIC TOY DRIVE.

SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY will be celebrated with the SPINNING WHEEL. Shoppers that spend $50 in Montrose Shopping Park businesses that day bring their receipts to the booth for a spin. $100 or more in receipts get two spins. Winning may include prizes from merchants, the new American Express SBS tote, and more. The booth will be located at the War Memorial corner from 11-3. Maximum ONE trip to the wheel per person.

Sunday brings the famous MONTROSE HARVEST MARKET with farm fresh produce, flowers and gourmet packaged goods from 8-1. For more info. see www.shopmontrose.com
