Wrist Assist! Yoga Therapy for the Hands, Wrists, and Upper Body
If you suffer from wrist pain, whether it’s due to carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, or another form of repetitive stress, this workshop will introduce you to the yoga tools you need. We’ll practice tension-relieving stretches for the wrists, arms, shoulders, and neck, and we’ll also refine your alignment and hand positioning so that you build strength and confidence in your hand foundations. You’ll also learn some handy modifications to use next time you’re in class and want to avoid putting too much pressure on your wrists.
This workshop will be led by Addie deHilster, who teaches yoga to students of all levels, from yoga teachers-in-training to absolute beginners. She has experience helping students with issues such as repetitive stress injuries, arthritis, bursitis, disc degeneration/herniation, fibromyalgia, MS, and musculoskeletal pain. She co-teaches the TheraYoga teacher certification program with Samantha Lawrence. Her early years of yoga included a journey of healing from a repetitive stress injury that affected her wrists and hands in playing the flute, while she pursued a Master’s degree in music.
This Wrist Assist workshop will be appropriate and adaptable for those currently struggling with wrist issues, as well as anyone hoping to prevent them from developing!
