A portion of Spring Road was closed Wednesday after a car turning left out of the Popeye's/Wood Ranch shopping center hit a pedestrian who was crossing the street, according to Sgt. Will Hammer of the Ventura County Sheriff's Department. The pedestrian, a 70-year-old man, was transported to Los Robles Medical Center, and, though Hammer could not say to what extent the man was injured, he said the accident was being investigated as a major injury accident. The driver, a 50 year old woman in a blue Toyota Corolla station wagon, was not injured, Hammer said. As of 5 p.m., the southbound lanes of Spring Road were still closed.
