Earthquake Jolts Port Hueneme: Did You Feel It?

No injuries have been reported as a result of the quake.

PORT HUENEME, CA: A magnitude 3.5 earthquake hit near Port Hueneme Wednesday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey. The temblor was reported around 4:44 a.m. The quake struck about 23 miles from Moorpark and almost 30 miles from Malibu.

Residents as far away as Camarillo, Ventura and Oxnard reported feeling the earthquake. No injuries have been reported as a result of the quake.

According to the U.S.G.S., it was centered:

  • 12km (7mi) WSW of Port Hueneme, CA
  • 16km (10mi) SW of Oxnard, CA
  • 21km (13mi) ENE of Santa Cruz Is. (E end), CA
  • 21km (13mi) SSW of Ventura, CA
  • 41km (25mi) WSW of Thousand Oaks, CA
  • 52km (32mi) SE of Santa Barbara, CA
