Flu Shots Available at Active Adult Center

Flu shots are available on Wednesday, Oct. 6 from 9:30 a.m. to noon by appointment at the Moorpark Active Adult Center.

Flu shots will be offered for adults age 65 and up and for those younger with a chronic condition that requires a flu shot. Flu shots will be provided by Livingston Memorial Visiting Nursing Association as a community service.

Flu shots will also be available to immediate family members of those at risk who are over age 13. The cost for flu shot recipients under age 65 is $25.

Seniors make no out-of-pocket payment for the flu shot if they do not belong to a senior HMO. Be sure to bring your Medicare card.

If a senior belongs to a Medicare HMO, their Medicare flu benefit has been assigned to that HMO. Seniors who are Medicare HMO members and choose to get their flu shot at this clinic must pay $25. Flu shots cannot be billed to an HMO.

You must make an appointment to receive a shot. The Moorpark Active Adult Center is located at 799 Moorpark Ave., Moorpark. Call the center at 805-517-6261 to make an appointment.
