Simi Valley Y's New Interactive Fitness Wall A Hit For All Ages

The Simi Valley Family YMCA recently installed a new interactive fitness wall designed for all ages.

"We were originally looking to add more activities to our facility for youth. The wall is ideal," says Mitch McManus, the Simi Y's membership and marketing director. "But after some research we found that the wall is also beneficial for adults and seniors. It is a great personal training and sport-specific tool. It's good for group exercise and fitness challenges as well."

The object is to deactivate the wall's flashing lights. "The wall not only provides a good cardiovascular workout, but it has cognitive, endurance, agility and flexibility benefits," says McManus. "We’re also finding that it's a fun social tool to get everyone involved and active."

The tWall 64 is manufactured by Exergame. The unit was funded, in part, by last September's fundraising gala hosted by the Southeast Ventura County YMCA.
