It’s time to recycle your Christmas tree

After the holidays, waste haulers will deliver thousands of Christmas trees to the organics waste recycler Agromin to be composted.

To help out, be sure to remove decorations and cut up your Christmas trees so limbs and branches fit in your green waste recycling barrel.

After trees reach Agromin, any remaining tree decorations are removed by hand. The trees are ground and then composted for use in gardens, in landscapes and on farms.

Residents also have the option of dropping off whole trees at:

Agromin Composting Facility - 6859 Arnold Rd., Oxnard (Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Saturday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.)

While supplies last, residents will receive a free bag of potting soil after dropping off their tree.
