Meet An “Amazing” Who Cares For Others With Zeal And Dedication

Florence "SeeSee" Rigney, at 94, celebrated her birthday with those she thinks of as her second family--the staff and nurses at Tacoma General Hospital.

A surgical nurse who’s been working since 1946, Florence keeps thinking she really could retire, actually tried it once, and found that retirement just wasn’t for her. Her co-workers are delighted she can’t find it in her to do so. They are thrilled to have her by their sides and find her dedication, knowledge and zeal a constant source of inspiration.

Florence’s secret to her happy healthy life? She likes the people she works with, and feels blessed to be able to help taking care of patients.
