Alice Munro, at 82, won the Nobel Prize in Literature for her work as "master of the contemporary short story.” Who says Millennials have all the fun? This accolade crowned a lifetime of writing, during which Alice won many awards in particular for her unique approach to short story writing, which is said to have revolutionized the field. Although Alice started writing as a teen, she worked as a waitress, a tobacco picker and a library clerk to support herself before opening a book store with her husband, “Munro’s Books,” which still exists today.
