Meet An “Amazing” Who Is As Much A Buddy As A Volunteer
Roger would meet up once a week with Rob Kenney, 68, who was recuperating from spinal surgery.

Roger Barth, at 78, proves that volunteering comes in many different forms, yet is always valuable and worthwhile for both the volunteer and those he or she assists. As a “Senior Companions” volunteer, Roger devotes approximately 25 hours a week to three clients. He does everything from spelling a regular caregiver to running errands, to just being a comforting companion.
Roger would meet up once a week with Rob Kenney, 68, who was recuperating from spinal surgery. Over the course of time, he helped Rob graduate from the couch to a walker to a cane--much to Rob’s delight. In the process, they formed a friendship that according to Dr. Erwin Tan of Senior Corps (which encompasses Senior Companions), happens quite frequently. A world of benefit for both!
