Lynn Rogers, at 80, does field research among the wild black bears of Minnesota, getting to know and understand them as well as you or I might know our family pet. Often called the “Jane Goodall” of black bears, Lynn has walked with and studied these bears for over 50 years, disputing the many myths attached to the animals. One example is that they crave human flesh and are always in attack-mode. Lynn teaches a black bear field study course for the Wildlife Research Institute every year to the delight of those who’ve long dreamed of interacting with these forest giants. If you don’t know what to do on vacation, how about learning how to get up close and personal with a wild black bear? Lynn will be happy to show you how!
