Rob Kelman, at 87, became the oldest person to climb the 900 ft. monolith known as “Devil’s Tower” in Wyoming.

In and of itself, that is astonishing, but here’s the really mind-blowing part: having only started climbing at 41, Rob wrecked his meniscus and tore his ACL in his 50s, had his first heart surgery at 67 and his second at 85. Yet he still persevered and went on to master Devil’s Tower.

A retired mathematician, Rob is a great believer in the maxim, “Just keep moving.” That, and having a goal, is what he has found to be truly effective. And what did Rob do at the end of his ascent? Said a little prayer of thanksgiving. Amen!
