Meet An “Amazing” Whose Accurate Aim Wins Trophies & Admiration

Joan Withers, at 80, received yet another trophy for her darts playing with the Cardiff City Ladies Darts League. She once again placed first in the local competition. Joan, who’s been playing for more than 40 years, has taken so many awards that they no longer fit on her mantelpiece. She is the oldest player on the team.

Many of Joan's teammates are literally half her age, yet they agree with her that experience is more important than age. A retired schoolteacher, Joan plays every week. She is valued by her teammates not only for her ability at darts, but also for being a good team player. Apparently “plays well with others” matters considerably beyond grade school.
